Everyday, I read SearchWarp.com; I just can't help myself. I love seeing the new articles and even truly enjoy it when one of mine is one the front page. But I also really enjoy looking at the author photos. Seeing the people whose articles I'm reading makes me feel like I'm closer to them, like we're distant friends keeping in touch. Sounds a little weird, I know, but I have such great respect for these writers, that's what I feel we're distant friends.

So, I wanted to share my thoughts and opinions on the author photos of some of my favorite authors.

Teresa Ortiz, Terry Mitchell, Marcus Parker, Ira Coffin, Avis Ward, Marie-Therese Norris, Laura Trahan, Scot McKay, Marybeth Crane and Michael C. Harris all have, in my opinion, the best face shots for their author pictures.

David Tanguay, Creative Blogger and Tex Norman all look like top respected reporters.

Rodney Biamby, Gregory Lewis, Sandra E. Graham, Christopher Pyle, Kathy Somers Walsh, Patrick Bedford, Trevor White, and Alex Glassman have interesting and original bio photos.

Dianne Lehmann, Fred Riley, Priestess Kandi, TRS Iyengar, Marie Hilland and Duncan Heather have the most "fun" pictures.

Lee Hayward, Nick Hallale and Brian Kavanagh have the most "buff" photos.

Gary W. Halsey Sr. has the best family photo.

Susan Thom, Ivan Ojounru, Michele PW and Camille Strate have the best author pictures which contain a "special guest."

Dr. Rick Kirschner, John Eminescu, Jacquie Bird, Vladimir Padilla and Jody Gabourie are all fashion models from a previous life (as noted in their respected author pictures).

Mike Fak's author picture looks like an older version of Andy from "The Office." I think that's awesome!

But the Most Awesome Author Picture Awards go to Abigail Richards and John Sammon for having the coolest author pictures out there in SearchWarp land!

I hope you all enjoyed this little bit of fun. Thanks for writing and keep the cool, funny, original and awesome photos coming!

I agree Ryan, it's nice to see a photo of the author you're reading, makes it  more personal. I like your picks for all the different categories. If you were to add the 'coolest' category,  Aetius Romulous would get my vote.

Hi Ryan, I am behind on reading articles, I missed this one earlier - I love that you wrote about this, because I agree with you. Seeing the faces of those we come to know through writing does bring a special kinship between authors. Thanks for the fun read and for including me in your list :-)

I love your family picture - and I have been wondering, maybe I missed the announcement but is your new baby here?

Blessings to you and your family! Teresa
